This is beautiful Bradford Dale, the source of our village water. Only five minutes walk from the cottage, it's well worth a visit and if you're feeling brave, there's even a natural swimming pool.
However, if you would like to explore a little further afield, you wont be disappointed. As well as the many beautiful walks, you can choose from cycle hire, fishing, pony trekking, steam trains, museums and shopping villages. These are just a few of our recommendations.

Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House is only a leisurely 10-15 minute drive through beautiful countryside. Once you arrive you can visit the house, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, the 105 acre gardens, designed Capability Brown, or the farm, shops and cafes. Chatsworth also holds the International Horse Trials in May and the Country Fair

Haddon Hall

Home to the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, Haddon Hall is only a 5 minute drive from Wildflower Cottage.
Legend has it that if you walk backwards down the steps, you will meet your future husband!

Bakewell, pudding or tart?

Bakewell is a beautiful market town with lots to offer. You could spend some time visiting the many shops, take a walk by the river or if you're feeling energetic, hire a bicycle and see the stunning scenery of the Monsal Trail.
Bakewell has its own stall and agricultural markets on Mondays and a farmers market ?????? Saturday.
Bakewell Agricultural Show, held the first of August has been a firm favourite for nearly 200 years.
